Elder Barry Russel Kelso is a warm and loving man of God.He has allowed God to use him to bring souls to Christ. He is a man that has dedicated him self to the Work of the kingdom.

 The esteemed Elder Barry Russel Kelso was born in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee, on December 21, 1953 to the late Lynell and Mary Kelso.  He is saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost filled.

 

Relocating to Detroit, Michigan, Kelso began his journey in what he calls the "Jonah" experience. During which time, God stripped him, cleansed him, picked him up, and placed his feet on solid ground. After being in the wilderness of life, being prepped, trained, and equipped to deal with turmoil, chaos, and satanic attacks. Pastor Kelso worked diligently and faithfully in the ministry.

 

He served as Deacon for many years before being licensed by Apostle Reverend Dr. Zachary Hicks of Faith Clinic Church of God In Christ, in Detroit, Michigan to the position of Minister. In 2006 after going through rigorous training, classes, and workshops, Kelso was ordained as Elder Barry Kelso by Bishop P.A. Brooks, the first assistant to the national Bishop Charles Blake of the Church of God in Christ Worldwide.

 

Elder Kelso's service to the ministry includes being first assistant of the Over comers Ministry, where he taught individuals how to deal with the front line attacks from the enemy by utilizing their weapons of spiritual warfare. Being faithful, he was given the honor of Minister of Security; being in charge of guarding the premises of the church during weekly services.

 

In regards to outreach ministry, Elder Kelso has diligently worked in the area of the vineyard. He served as the assistant director of the Love Outreach Ministry, a fresh start shelter for men trying to get their lives back on the right track. Here, he served as a mentor to men who were addicted to alcohol and drugs as well as those classified to the world as hopeless, down trodden, outcast, and derelicts. He went into the abandoned and condemned neighborhoods of Detroit to pull men out of shame, and show them the way to Christ. He also worked as assistant director of Ravendale Homeless Shelter where he dealt with men and women with children, whom experienced set backs in life, but were inspired to grab on to Gods delivering hand. He encouraged these men, women and children to study God's Word, In turn transforming their lives. Many have gone on to becoming powerful men and women of God. He also collaborated with Genesis House 2 Women's shelter, as well as, The Detroit Rescue Mission.

 

Elder Kelso has received many awards, certifications, acknowledgments as being  a student. Elder Kelso is strongly committed to spiritual growth and abiding under God's anointing through prayer and studying God's word according to 2 Timothy 2:15 which states "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth."
